The UNO Cards

UNO is a card game that consists of 112 cards, divided into four colors: red, blue, green, and yellow. Each color has 19 cards, numbered from 0 to 9. Additionally, there are 8 Skip cards, 8 Reverse cards, and 8 Draw Two cards, two of each color. These are called action cards because they have special effects when played.

Numbered Cards (0-9)

The numbers cards are the most basic and common in UNO. They can be played on a card of the same color or the same number. For example, you can play a red 5 on a red 9 or a blue 5. The number on the card does not affect the game, except for scoring.

Skip Cards

The skip cards in uno have a circle with a slash on them. They can be played on a card of the same color or another Skip card. When you play a Skip card, the next player in turn loses their turn and is skipped. For example, if you play a green Skip card, the player after you cannot play, and the turn passes to the next player.

Reverse Cards

The reverse cards in uno have two arrows pointing in opposite directions on them. They can be played on a card of the same color or another Reverse card. When you play a Reverse card, the direction of play changes. For example, if the play was going clockwise, it now goes counterclockwise, and vice versa.

Draw Two Cards

The draw 2 cards in uno have a +2 sign on them. They can be played on a card of the same color or another Draw Two cards. When you play a Draw Two card, the next player in turn must draw two cards from the draw pile and lose their turn.

Wild Cards

These wild cards in uno have a W sign on them. They can be played on any card, regardless of the color or number. When you play a Wild card, you can choose the color of the current play. When playing a Wild card, you have the power to determine the color of the ongoing play. If you play a Wild card and say “blue,” the next player must either play a blue card or use another Wild card strategically. Your strategic influence knows no bounds!

Wild Draw Four Cards

These cards have a W and a +4 sign on them. They can be played on any card, regardless of the color or number. However, you can only play a Wild Draw Four card if you have no other card that matches the current color. When you play a Wild Draw Four card, you can choose the color of the current play and the next player must draw four cards from the draw pile and lose their turn. If the player holding it does not have a card in their hand to match the color on the discard pile, they can play it.

Blank cards

Thee blank uno cards are customizable wild cards that you can write any rule or action on them. You can use a marker or a sticker to create your own special card. For example, you can write “Draw Three” or “Swap Colors” on a blank card and use it in the game. You can also erase or change the rule later if you want.

Swap Hands cards

The swap hands cards are similar to Trade Hands cards, but they have a different design. They have two arrows pointing in opposite directions on them. They can be played on any card, regardless of the color or number. When you play a Swap Hands card, you can swap your hand with another player of your choice. You can also play this card on another Swap Hands card of any color. If this card is the first card of the game, the first player must swap their hand with another player.

Shuffle Hands cards

The shuffle hands cards are also similar to Trade Hands cards, but they have a different effect. They have a card shuffling symbol on them. They can be played on any card, regardless of the color or number. When you play a Shuffle Hands card, you have to shuffle all the cards in your hand and then deal them out to all the players, starting with yourself. You can also play this card on another Shuffle Hands card of any color. If this card is the first card of the game, the first player must shuffle their hand and deal the cards to all the players.

Additional Special UNO Cards Meaning

Discard All

This card is from the Uno Attack version, which uses a card launcher instead of a draw pile. This card allows you to discard all the cards of the same color as this card. For example, if you play a green Discard All card, you can throw away all your green cards. You can also play this card on another Discard All card of any color. If this card is the first card of the game, the first player is required to either play a card of the same color or another Discard All card. If they cannot, they have to press the launcher button and take the cards that come out.

Hit 2

This card is also from the UNO Attack cards. This card forces the next player to press the launcher button twice. Players are required to collect all the cards that are drawn and forfeit their next turn. They cannot play any card or press the launcher button again. If this card is the first card of the game, the first player has to press the launcher button twice and take the cards that come out. Then the next player plays.

Extreme Hit

This card is from UNO Extreme, similar to UNO Attack but with a stronger launcher. This card lets you choose the color for the next turn and also choose another player to hit. You have to turn the launcher to face that player and press the launcher button twice. All players must collect all the cards that are played and forfeit their turn. The game continues with the next player after you, regardless of the direction of play.

Wild All Hit

This card is from the UNO Wild Jackpot version, which uses a jackpot machine instead of a draw pile. This card makes every player (except the dealer) press the jackpot button once. If the jackpot machine does not shoot out any cards, the game continues with the next player. If the jackpot machine shoots out any cards, the player who pressed the button has to take them.

Wild Hit-Fire

This card is from the UNO Fire version, which uses a fire launcher instead of a draw pile. This card makes only the player to the left of the dealer press the fire button until the fire launcher shoots out cards. The player who pressed the button has to take the cards and skip their turn. The game begins with the next player to the left of that player.

Trade Hands

This card is from the UNO Party version, which uses a party machine instead of a draw pile. This card allows you to trade your hand with another player of your choice. You have to swap all your cards with that player. You can also play this card on another Trade Hands card of any color. If this card is the first card of the game, the first player must trade their hand with another player.

Different UNO Versions Cards

These are some of the special cards from different UNO versions. UNO Flip Cards

This version has two sides of the deck: a light side and a dark side. Players start with the light side, but whenever someone plays a Flip card, the deck and the cards in the players’ hands are flipped over to the other side. The dark side has more challenging action cards, such as Draw Five, Wild Draw Color, and Skip Everyone.

UNO All Wild Cards

This version has nothing but wild cards in the deck. There are no matching colors or numbers required, but players can use special action cards to change the game. Some of these cards are Wild Skip Two, Wild Reverse, Wild Draw Two, Wild Targeted Draw Two, Wild Draw Four, and Wild Forced Swap.

UNO Flex Cards

UNO No Mercy Cards

The No Mercy version is the most brutal version of UNO ever. The new version UNO No Mercy has more cards with stricter penalties and additional rules that will require players to stack, swap, and draw more cards than ever. There are two ways to win: get rid of all cards or knock all other players out of the game. Some of the action cards are Wild Draw 10, Wild Draw 6, Skip Everyone, and Wild Color Roulette. There is also a Mercy rule that eliminates any player who has 25 or more cards in their hand.

Spicy UNO Cards

This spicy version of uno adds more fun and interaction to the classic Uno game. There are some extra rules for each card that are applied when the card is played. For example, if someone plays a 6, everyone must slap the deck and the last person to slap must draw two cards. If someone plays a 7, everyone must be silent until another 7 is played. If someone plays a 0, they can swap hands with another player. If a player plays a Draw Two or a Wild Draw Four card, the next player can add another Draw Two or Wild Draw Four card on top, and make the next player take the penalty.

Dirty UNO Cards
