These are the cards that have special effects on the game. They can be played by matching the color or symbol of the top card on the discard pile. There are four types of action cards:

  • Skip cards: These cards have a ⊘ symbol on them. When any player plays a Skip card in the play, the next player in turn order is skipped and loses their turn.
  • Reverse cards: These cards have a ↔ symbol on them. When you play a Reverse card in the play, the order of play is reversed and continues.
  • Draw Two cards: These cards have a +2 symbol on them. When you play a Draw Two card in Zelda gameplay, the next player, in turn, order, must draw two cards from the draw pile and place them in the card blaster. They then lose their turn.
  • Wild cards: These cards have a ? symbol on them. They can play wild cards on any card, regardless of the color or number. You can choose the next card’s color when you play a Wild card. You can also trigger the card blaster, which will randomly shoot out cards. If you do, you must take all the cards that come out and add them to your hand.

These cards have pictures of characters, items, and locations from The Legend of Zelda series. They can be played on any card, regardless of the color or number. There are three types of Zelda-themed cards:

  • Character cards: These cards have pictures of characters from The Legend of Zelda series, such as Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, etc. They have no special effect, but they can help you get rid of your cards faster.
  • Item cards: These cards have pictures of items from The Legend of Zelda series, such as the Master Sword, the Ocarina, the Bomb, etc. They act as Wild cards, meaning you can choose the next card’s color to be played. You can also trigger the card blaster, randomly shooting out cards. If you do, you must take all the cards that come out and add them to your hand.
  • Location cards: These cards have pictures of locations from The Legend of Zelda series, such as Hyrule Castle, Death Mountain, etc. They can be played by matching the color or symbol of the top card on the discard pile. When you play a Location card, the next player, in turn order, must draw two cards from the draw pile and place them in the card blaster. They then lose their turn.

How to Play Zelda UNO

To start the game, select the dealer to shuffle and give seven cards to each player and the dealer put the remaining cards face down on the center table to make the draw pile. Pick up the top card from the draw pile and put it next to the pile to begin the discard pile. If the card is an action card, ignore its effect.

  • Then, flip over another card from the draw pile, place the card blaster next to the discard pile, and ensure it has four empty slots.
  • The player to the dealer’s left starts the game by matching the top card of the discard pile, either by color, number, or symbol. For instance, if the highest card is a red 5, the gamer can use any card with a 5 or a unique card.
  • The player then places the card on top of the discard pile. If the player does not have a matching card, they must draw one card from the draw pile and place it in one of the empty slots of the card blaster. The player can choose any slot but must be careful, as some slots may trigger the blast.
  • The player’s turn is over if the card blaster does not go off. If the card blaster goes off, the player must add all the cards that shoot out to their hand. The player’s turn is then over.
  • The game continues clockwise unless a Reverse card changes the order. When a player has only one card left, they must say “UNO” before playing. If they forget to say “UNO” and another player catches them, they must draw two cards from the draw pile and place them in the card blaster.
  • A player cannot win the game with a special card except a Wild card. If players play a special card as their last card, they must follow its instructions before saying “UNO.”

The round ends when one player gets rid of all their cards and says “UNO.” The other players then count the points of the cards they are left with.

The points are as follows:

  • Number cards (0-9): Face Cards value
  • Skip cards: 20 points
  • Reverse cards: 20 points
  • Draw Two cards: 20 points
  • Wild cards: 50 points
  • Triforce cards:50 points
  • Character cards: 10 points
  • Item cards: 10 points
  • Location cards: 10 points

Winning

The points are added to the player’s score, and a new round begins. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game. Alternatively, you can keep track of each player’s points at the end of each round, and the player with the lowest points wins the game when someone reaches 500 points.

Press the Reset Button to resume the game if the card blaster is in sleep mode after 3 minutes of inactivity. To start a new game or round, press the Reset Button to eject any cards in the card blaster. If the card blaster is asleep, you must press the button twice.
