The Barbie UNO Rules and Cards

Uno Barbie is a themed version of Uno featuring the popular Barbie franchise. Barbie UNO features images of Barbie and her friends on each of the cards. Uno Barbie makes a great gift for Barbie fans and kids. The gameplay remains the same as classic Uno, but the Barbie theme gives it extra excitement, especially for young girls.

Barbie UNO Rules

The objective of Uno Barbie is the same as the regular Uno. Players discard cards by matching either the number or color of the current top card on the discard pile. The first player to discard all their cards wins!

• Number cards 0-9 in pink, purple, blue, and yellow

How to Play Uno Barbie

The gameplay of Uno Barbie is the same classic Uno fun but themed around Barbie. On your turn, you must match either the color or number of the first card. on the top of remaining cards and if you are unable to play a card, you are bound to draw from the draw pile until it reached a playable one.

To set up Uno Barbie, shuffle the 112 cards and deal 7 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down to form a draw pile, and pick up the top card of the draw pile to start the play. On each persons turn, he or she must pick up the top card and matches the color or number or symbol of the cards in their hands.

When Playing a Wild cards (that can represent any color) or Wild Draw Four cards (that also force the next player to draw 4 cards), players chooses the next color to be played when using a Wild card. The action cards like Skip (to skip the next player), Reverse (to change the direction of play) or Draw Two (to make the next player draw cards).

The first player to discard all their cards wins the round and the gameplay continues until one player has successfully discarded all the cards in their hand. The first player to achieve 500 points in the play by adding points of all rounds wins the game.

Uno Barbie Deck Setup:

Replace the number cards with different Barbie outfits. Suggestions:

• 0 – Casual dress
• 1 – Ballgown
• 2 – Swimsuit
• 3 – Career outfit (doctor, teacher, etc.)
• 4 – Sparkly party dress
• 5 – Mermaid tail
• 6 – Winter coat + accessories
• 7 – Rock star/pop star outfit
• 8 – The bride’s dress
• 9 – Gymnast leotard
• Replace Wild and Wild Draw 4 cards with different Barbie dolls.
• Wild – Malibu Barbie
• Wild Draw 4 – Fairytopia Barbie

Barbie Uno Cards

Uno Barbie deck includes 112 cards featuring colorful Barbie and friends with cards in pink, purple, blue, and yellow colors. Barbie Uno cards add new strategic elements and tie into Barbie’s fashion and friendship themes. The Barbie Uno 2023 version will likely have more of these themed cards to enhance game play.

Barbie Uno Cards Rules

Barbie Uno Fashion Swap Card

• This is a specialty card unique to Barbie Uno.
• When played, the Fashion Swap card allows you to trade the cards in your hand with the cards in another player’s hand.
• It represents Barbie and her friends “swapping fashions” and mixing up the gameplay.

Barbie Uno Heart Card

• The Heart card is also unique to Barbie Uno.
• When played, it makes the next player draw 2 cards from the deck and then immediately skip their turn.
• The Heart card represents the themes of love and friendship in Barbie Uno.

BFF Card

• The BFF (Best Friends Forever) card reverses the direction of gameplay when played.
• They have switched the direction of the gameplay to its opposite direction.
• It fits the friendship theme of Barbie Uno.

Dream Closet Card

• The Dream Closet card allows you to choose any color when you play it.
• The next player must play a card of the color you selected or draw from the deck.
• It represents Barbie’s dream closet full of fashion choices.

Glitter Card

• This card makes the next player draw 4 cards from the deck when played.
• The Glitter card adds excitement and fun like glitter.

Ken Card

• The Ken card represents Barbie’s boyfriend.
• When played, it makes the next player draw 1 card from the deck.

Barbie Uno Card Meanings

Fashion Swap Card Meanings

The Fashion Swap card allows a player to trade the cards in their hand with the cards in another player’s hand when played. This represents Barbie and her friends swapping their fashionable outfits and accessories with each other, mixing up the gameplay. The Fashion Swap card injects excitement through the surprise hand swap and the opportunity to gain a strategic advantage from better cards.

Heart Card Meanings

When a player plays the Heart card, the next player in the sequence must draw 2 cards from the deck and then immediately skip their turn. This reflects the loving and friendly themes of Barbie, as the Heart card helps one player while hurting another through the skip. The 2 card draw also builds the suspense.

BFF Card Meanings (Best Friends Forever Card)

The BFF card allows the player who uses it to reverse the direction of gameplay when played. If the gameplay was moving clockwise, it has now reversed counter-clockwise. This represents the unbreakable bonds of best friends forever in the Barbie world. The BFF card strategically shifts the order of play and can target the player who you most want to penalize or throw off their game.

Dream Closet Card Meanings

The Dream Closet card provides the player with the right to select any color for the next player to be assigned. This reflects Barbie’s endless dream closet of fashionable clothing and accessories in every color of the rainbow. The next player must play a card of the selected color or draw from the deck. This gives the player who used the Dream Closet card strong strategic control over the game.

Glitter Card Meanings

The Glitter card adds brightness and fun like real glitter when played. But it also makes the next player draw 4 cards from the deck, penalizing them. The Glitter card is useful for trying to make another player draw extra cards and potentially lose by exceeding the hand limit. It builds in flashy excitement and chance.

Ken Card Meanings

The Ken card represents Barbie’s boyfriend in the Barbie story world. When used, the Ken card makes the next player in turn draw 1 card from the deck. It is a simple way to make a player draw a card, helping move everyone closer to the hand limit. The Ken card reflects the friendship and love theme of Barbie Uno.
