The UNO Go deck contain 56 cards divided into four colours: red, yellow, green, and blue. There are 40 number cards (10 for each colour), 12 action cards (3 for each colour), 4 wild cards, 4 wild draws, and 4 cards which are not coloured. The total is 56 cards. Each colour has 13 cards, numbered from 0 to 9, plus three action cards: skip, reverse, and draw two. There are also four wild cards and four wild draw four cards, which can be used to change the color of the play.

UNO Go Rules

The objective of UNO Go is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. To start the game, each player deals and plays with seven cards, and the remaining cards are placed face down to form the draw pile. Then, the top card of the draw pile is turned over to start the discard pile. The player to the left of the dealer goes first, and the game proceeds clockwise.

How to Play UNO Go

On your turn, you must play a card that matches the top card of the discard pile by color, number, or symbol. For example, if the top card is a red 4, you can play any red card, any 4 card, or any wild card, and if you have no matching cards, you must draw a card from the draw pile. If the card you draw is playable, you can play it. Otherwise, your turn is over.

Some cards have special effects when played:

  • Skip: The next player in the sequence skips and loses their turn.
  • Reverse: This card changes the order of play in the reverse direction, and if the game was going clockwise, it now goes counterclockwise, and vice versa.
  • Draw two: The card allows the next player in the sequence to draw two cards from the draw pile and lose their turn.
  • Wild: This card allows you to choose any colour of cards to continue the game. You can also play a wild card even if you have another playable card.
  • Wild draw four: This card allows you to choose any colour to continue the game, and the next player in the sequence must draw four cards from the draw pile and lose their turn. You can only play this card if you have no other cards that match the color of the top card.

Winning

When you have only one card left in your hand, you must shout “UNO” to let the other players know you are playing the last card, and if you forget to shout “UNO” and another player catches you before the next player plays a card, you must draw two cards as a penalty. The first player to get rid of all their cards and empty their hands first wins the game.
