How to Play Spicy UNO

The game aims to be the first player to get rid of all your cards by matching the colour or the number of the top card in the discard pile. You can also play action cards or wild cards to affect the game in different ways.

To start the game, the dealer player shuffles and deals seven cards to every player and places all the remaining cards face down on the table in the centre of all players. The player next to the dealer starts playing, plays his first card, and picks the top card from the draw pile.

The game continues toward the next players, and on every player’s turn, they pick the top card from the draw pile and match the cards with the cards in their hands either by numbers, colours or actions.

In case any player doesn’t have a matching card to play, they draw two cards from the draw pile, and their turn ends. When a player has one card left, they must shout “UNO!” If any player can do so he must draw two cards as plenty if another player catches you.

The game round ends when one player has no cards left in their hands or when the draw pile runs out. In “Spicy Uno”, the first player is to get rid of all his cards before the opponent wins the round, and the game ends when the game reaches 500 points. However, the player with the lowest score at the end wins the game.

The spicy UNO Cards and points are discussed below after the rules section.

Spicy UNO Rules

The basic rules of Spicy UNO are the same as the regular UNO rules, but with some additional rules that make the game more fun and spicy. Here are some of the special rules for Spicy UNO:

  • Slappy Sixes: Whenever a six is played, everyone must slap the discard pile as quickly as possible. The last player to slap the pile must draw two cards from the draw pile and lose their turn. If there is a tie, both players must draw two cards.
  • Silent Sevens: Whenever a seven is played, everyone must remain silent until another seven is played. Anyone who speaks during the silence must draw one card from the draw pile for each word they say. If someone says “Uno” during the silence, they must draw two cards instead of one. The silence rule does not apply to non-verbal sounds, such as laughter or coughing.
  • Trading Zeros: Whenever a zero is played, the player who played it can choose to swap hands with any other player. Whenever a zero is played, the player who played it can choose to swap hands with any other player. This can be a good strategy to get rid of a bad hand or to prevent someone from winning.
  • However, the player who swapped hands must still follow the colour of the zero cards for their next play. If the player they swapped with only has one card left, they must say “Uno” or raise their finger as soon as they take the card.
  • Exact Matches: Players can play an exact match at any time, even if it is not their turn. An exact match is a card that has the same color and number as the top card in the discard pile. For example, if the top card is a red 5, any player can play another red 5 on top of it. The player who played the exact match can then choose the color for the next play.
  • Playing an exact match does not change the order of play unless it is a skip or a reverse card. If more than one player has an exact match, the player who is closest to the current turn gets to play their card first.
  • Silent Uno: When a player has only one card left, they must indicate this by raising one finger instead of saying “Uno”. If another player notices that they have one card left and they did not raise their finger, they can say “Uno” and make them draw two cards. However, if the player with one card left says “Uno” before anyone else, they are safe and do not have to draw any cards.
  • Stacking: Players can “stack up” draw two and draw four cards separately. This means that if a player plays a draw two card, the next player can avoid drawing two cards by playing another draw two card on top of it. The next player must then draw four cards unless they also have to draw two cards to play.
–>
  • This continues until someone does not have to draw two cards to play, and they must draw all the cards. The same rule applies for draw four cards, but they can only be stacked with other draw four cards, not with draw two cards. When stacking cards, the player who plays the last card can choose the color for the next play.
  • Out-Unoing: If a player is out-Unoed when they have only one card left, they must draw four cards from the draw pile and lose their turn. Out-Unoing happens when another player says “Uno” before the player with one card left.
  • This can happen if the player with one card left forgets to say “Uno” or raise their finger, or if another player is faster than them. Out-Unoing can also happen if the player with one card left plays a wild card and another player says “Uno” before they choose the color.
  • Slaps: Players must slap one card at a time when playing a card. However, if a player only has one deck of UNO cards, they can modify this rule to allow slapping on a card with a matching face value, regardless of color. For example, if the top card is a red 5, any player can slap another 5 card of any color on top of it. This rule does not apply to action cards or wild cards, which must be played normally.
