The Garbage Card Game, also known by names such as “Trash” or “I Doubt It,” is a popular and fast-paced card game often enjoyed as a drinking game. The main focus of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards successfully. The Game, also known as Trash or Ten, is a fun and easy card game for 2 to 6 players. The kids and family game version objective is to be the first player to arrange a set of 10 cards in ascending order, from Ace to Ten.
Cards and Components
To play the Garbage Card Game, you will need one or more standard 52-card decks, depending on the number of players:
- 2–3 players: One deck
- 4–6 players: Two decks
- 7–8 players: Three decks
You will also need a flat surface to lay out your cards and a score sheet to keep score.
How to Play Garbage Card Game
To play the Garbage Card Game, you will need a standard deck of 52 playing cards, a flat surface for playing, and, optionally, drinking cups (only for the drinking version) and a beverage if you would like to play it as a drinking game.

To begin, deal all the cards in the deck in equal amounts among the members. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game and takes the first turn.
Gameplay
The players take turns playing cards of the same rank or higher rank than the previous player, who takes turns playing cards of the same rank or higher rank than the previous player. During a game, if a player is unable to play a card or decides not to make a move, they must say “Garbage” and draw a card from the draw pile.
Challenging Other Players
While playing the game, a player can challenge another player if they think they’re lying about the card they played, and the challenged player must then reveal their hand to the other player.

The game continues until one player has succeeded in getting rid of all the playing cards in his hands. The first player to succeed in playing all the cards is the winner.

Before the game begins, shuffle the cards and deal 10 cards face down to each player. Players should not look at their cards but arrange them in rows of five cards each. This is their hand. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table as the draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned over and placed next to it to form the discard pile. The player to the left of the dealer goes first, and the game proceeds clockwise.

- You need one or more decks of cards, depending on how many people are playing.

- If the card you get does not match any spot, you discard it and end your turn.
- The first player to fill up their 10 spots with cards in order from Ace to Ten wins the round.
- The winner gets zero points, and the others get one point for each card left in their hand.
- The game can be played for several rounds until someone reaches a specific score. The player with the lowest score wins the game.
