Speed Cards

The cards lack any particular significance within the game, except for the jokers that can serve as wild cards. A wild card can be any card that the player wants it to be, as long as it matches the rank or suit of the top card of the active pile.
Setup
To set up the game, shuffle the deck and deal 20 cards to each player. These cards form the draw pile for each player. Then, deal five cards from each draw pile to form the player’s hand. We place the remaining cards in four piles in the middle of the table: two reserve piles of five cards each, and two active piles of one card each. Now let’s dive into the rules of card game speed.

FAQs
How many players can play Speed?
Speed is usually played with two players, but it can be adapted for three or more players by using additional decks of cards and creating more active and reserve piles in the center.
How do you use jokers in Speed?
Jokers can be used as wild cards, which means they can be any card that the player wants. A player can play a joker on any card in the active pile, and then declare what card it represents. For example, a player can play a joker on a 5 and say “This is a 6”. The next player has to play a card that matches a 6 or a 7.
What happens if both players run out of cards at the same time?
If both players run out of cards in their hand and draw a pile at the same time, the game is a tie. Some players have different rules. For example, the last card player wins. Another rule is that the player with fewer cards in their reserve pile wins.
