  • 20 plastic acorns in five colors: red, yellow, green, blue, and purple
  • A game spinner with 10 sections: five colors, one acorn, two acorns, sneaky squirrel, sad squirrel, and squirrel storm
  • Four plastic tree stumps with five colored holes each
  • A squirrel squeezer, a velvet-covered plastic tweezer shaped like a squirrel

Setup

To set up the game, follow these steps:

  • Open the game box and remove all the components
  • Place all the acorns randomly inside the tree-shaped box, so they appear to be on or around the tree
  • Give each player a tree stump and place it in front of them
  • Decide who will go first (the youngest player is recommended)
  • Give the spinner and the squirrel squeezer to the first player matching colored acorn or steal an acorn etc.

Gameplay

The game is played in turns, starting with the first player and going clockwise. On your turn, you must do the following:

  • Spin the spinner and see what section it lands on
  • Perform the action corresponding to the section, using the squirrel squeezer to pick up or drop the acorns
  • Pass the spinner and the squirrel squeezer to the next player

The actions for each section are:

  • Color: Pick up an acorn of the same color as the section and place it in the matching hole on your tree stump. If you already have an acorn of that color, skip your turn.
  • One acorn: Pick up any one acorn from the tree and place it in the matching hole on your tree stump.
  • Two acorns: Pick up any two acorns from the tree and place them in the matching holes on your tree stump.
  • Sneaky squirrel: Steal any one acorn from another player’s tree stump and place it in the matching hole on your tree stump. You must choose an acorn that you need.
  • Sad squirrel: Skip your turn and do nothing.
  • Squirrel storm: Return all your acorns to the tree and skip your turn.

Winning

The game ends when one player fills their tree stump with one acorn of each color. That player is the winner of the game. If more than one player fills their tree stump on the same turn, the game is a tie.
